A Modern Approach for Optimal Bone and Skeletal Strength
Bone setting is a traditional manual therapy focused on restoring proper alignment and function to the body’s structural and musculoskeletal systems. For the human body to stay healthy, all 12 major body systems must remain in balance—and the skeletal and structural systems is one of the most essential.
Proper bone and joint alignment support posture, movement, nerve function, and overall well-being, making bone setting an important component of maintaining a healthy, balanced body.
In the early 1900s, most individuals barely lived past their 50s. Today, it is common for people to live well into their 70s and 80s. With longer lifespans come the natural effects of aging — wear and tear, postural imbalances, both minor and major structural or connective tissue issues.
As a result, more people of all ages now experience musculoskeletal discomfort. Many seek relief through massage, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, "tit tar", "tui na", and traditional bone-setting treatments.
Practitioners who are well-trained in these modalities provide patients with a significant advantage — delivering more holistic, effective, and well-informed care that addresses the body as a whole.
A journey from injury-prone teen to bone-setting master
Mike Wong, born in Batu Gajah, Perak, was injury-prone during his teenage years. Out of necessity, he began exploring self-healing methods and eventually discovered "tui na", a Traditional Chinese Medicine modality.
He trained under Master Cheong for many years as an apprentice, building a strong foundation in manual therapy. Five years ago, Mike ventured out on his own. As an avid learner, he expanded his knowledge by studying chiropractic techniques, tit tar, and osteopathy.
He currently practices at:
With more than 10,000 bone-setting manoeuvres performed, Mike has developed an exceptional ability often described as "Feel & Touch" — a skill where he closes his eyes and uses only tactile sensitivity to identify critical areas requiring adjustments.
His approach covers the body from head to toe. Some postural corrections require lifting the patient; therefore, a bone setter must possess physical stature, strength, and proper technique — especially when working with patients who weigh over 80 kg.
Real experiences from real patients
"In the early 1990s, life moved quickly for me as Managing Director at a tyre tubing factory. Then one afternoon, everything changed — a sudden, piercing pain exploded from my right lower back and shot all the way down to my toes."
"My search for relief spanned more than 20 years. I explored chiropractic care, physiotherapy, osteopathy, and 'tit tar' sessions. But by late 2022-2023, even walking was a struggle. I was almost bedridden."
"Then, late in 2024, I tried Mike Wong Bone Setting. What struck me first was his calmness — humble, grounded, focused. Then came his technique. Mike had an uncanny ability to sense alignment issues through 'Feel & Touch'."
"To my disbelief, this combination restored over 70% of my structural functionality. In early 2025, for the first time in years, I returned to Kledang Hill. I climbed. I breathed the cool morning air. I felt alive again."
Common questions about bone setting treatments
Bone setting is a traditional manual therapy which executes the manipulation of bones, joints, and soft tissues to correct misalignments that occur in the body via trauma or postural habits.
Bone setting and chiropractic have similarities but have significant differences in the methods of manipulation. Each approach has its unique techniques and philosophies.
Any types of injuries and conditions should first be assessed by a proper practitioner. Common injuries such as neck aches, frozen shoulders, and back pains can usually be helped by bone setting. Please seek consultation before treatment.
This highly depends on the patients' individual pain tolerance, but some discomfort is to be expected during treatment. Our practitioners use proper technique to minimize discomfort while maximizing effectiveness.
Typically, a basic full body assessment and bone setting treatment session would take about 30-40 minutes, depending on the severity of the patient's condition.
This depends on the injury that the patient has. On average, the recovery rate is over 30%. For best results, we recommend 4-6 sessions to allow the body's structural alignment to reset and stabilise over time.
Yes, but we typically only accept patients between the ages of 12 to 70 years old, but make exceptions for severe cases. For new patients over 70 years old, we request a bone density test to be conducted prior to the first appointment.
You may bring any related details on your injuries (X-rays, MRI), but not as a requirement. Visit us ideally on an empty stomach, or at least 2 hours after meal.
Yes. The recovery of mobility functions depends on the severity of each patient. Many patients with chronic conditions have found significant relief through consistent bone setting treatments.
Minimal risk is involved in our treatments, but please expect a few days of discomfort post-treatment due to the slight swelling of the treated areas. Our practitioners follow strict safety protocols to ensure your well-being.
